Salt Lake has an amazing summer and people here take it seriously. Once the weather turns, the town fills up with outdoor concerts, night markets, and rooftop bars that make you glad you live here. If you’ve been sticking to the same dinner spots and calling it a night early, there’s a lot you’re missing.
This guide covers the events and spots worth getting out for this season.
Twilight Concert Series
Now in its 39th year, the Twilight Concert Series is the most reliable summer night out in the county. The 2026 lineup spans two downtown venues with Old Crow Medicine Show, Freddie Gibbs, Suki Waterhouse, MUNA 4, and Goose closing out the run on August 29. Your concert ticket doubles as a free UTA fare pass for the whole day of the show.
Tickets are low-cost and go fast and the local openers have consistently been a highlight of the series, so get there early.
Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre
The Utah First Amphitheatre in West Valley City has one of the biggest outdoor concert lineups in the state every summer. Coming up: Evanescence with Spiritbox and Nova Twins on July 25, Sarah McLachlan on July 30, Kali Uchis on August 5, 311 and Dirty Heads on August 8, and the Black Crowes with Whiskey Myers on August 13.
It holds 25,000 people with 7,000 fixed seats and 18,000 lawn spots, so even sold-out shows feel manageable. Bring a blanket for the lawn and go early to beat the parking.
LiveDaybreak Summer Concert Series
Every Friday and most Saturday evenings through September, the LiveDaybreak Summer Concert Series runs free outdoor concerts at America First Square on the Rio Tinto Kennecott Stage in Downtown Daybreak, South Jordan. The July lineup includes Rhinestone Rodeo on July 10. Admission is always free with no tickets required, but capacity is around 3,000 so get there before 8 pm.
Grab dinner at one of the SoDa Row restaurants before the show. TRAX Red Line stops nearby, which makes getting there and back easy on a weekend night.
Millcreek Summer Bazaar
Every Sunday through September 27 from 11 am to 9 pm, Millcreek Common hosts the Millcreek Summer Bazaar. Shop vintage finds, local art, and handmade goods from vendors spread across the plaza. It runs all day and into the evening, so it works as an afternoon outing or a low-key Sunday night out. It’s free, casual, and a good excuse to spend time in Millcreek without much planning. Pair it with dinner at one of the nearby spots on the way in or out.
Salt Lake After Dark: Night Lights Tour
If you want something different from the standard bar or concert night, the Salt Lake After Dark Night Lights tour runs every Friday and Saturday and it’s strictly 21-plus. The tour meets on the sidewalk in front of the Walker Center. From there, your guide takes you to a private location inside the building for an unfiltered history of Salt Lake City. Think of grave robbers, working girls, and the kind of stories that never made it into any school curriculum.
The evening ends on what the tour calls the best rooftop in Salt Lake City, with the Walker Center sign lit up above and the city lights spread out around you. It’s a solid pick for a date night or a group looking for something more memorable than another bar crawl. Book in advance since spots fill up on weekends.
Gracie’s
When you want a lively evening without the full concert commitment, Gracie’s is a good call. They run local musicians, bingo nights, and seasonal events, so there’s usually something going on. The cocktail menu covers the classics and goes further with signatures like the Dirty Bird, a tropical mix of cocoa rum, Demerara, Campari, pineapple, and lime, and the Apples to Aperol, which blends Aperol with apple cider, champagne, and soda.
They stay open until 1 am, which makes them a natural late-night stop after a Twilight Concert or a Night Lights tour. They’re on the edge of downtown, walkable from TRAX, with paid parking nearby for drivers. Reservations are worth making since both locals and out-of-towners find their way here.
Go Find Your Spot
Salt Lake has a lot going on this summer and most of it is either free or close to it. As a real estate agent in Salt Lake, I stay plugged into what’s happening across neighborhoods because it matters when you’re helping someone figure out where to put down roots. Summer nightlife is one of the best ways to understand what a neighborhood actually feels like.
Pick one spot from this list and get out there this week.
